A true Love Story!

Just entered the blog after some time. I pass a few days without doing anything due to lack of interest. Thinking about destiny and passing days does not yield a better feeling; at last, when you see your pages of life that were gone, you could find an empty glass. Though, it is prone to become pieces of irregular shape, you could make it an artistic and an interesting piece when you fill it with something that attracts you towards life. So, I am not spared too, to all kind of mixed feelings where you pass your days without any improvement in anything.
Have you ever walked on some streets without knowing where you want to go?
Have you read a newspaper that is two or three days old and thinking that you have read all news somewhere else?
Have you watched any TV serial in some ABC language?
Have you watched Indian cinema songs in mute?
All the above said ones would be a result of those uninteresting and unimportant days of your life. I was in the same state. Thought to take a break as I know I would go tired if I live in such a way that is of no use to me and my surroundings. So, thought of reading a novel in English as an exercise for improving my communication. Of all the novels that were placed on the platform, the one that attracted me was "I too had a love story : A heart-breaking true love story" by Ravinder Singh. I did not know what magic the book name had on me and thought of reading it. I did not have much feel on that novel, but tried to complete it asap because I did not want to keep reading it for more than a couple of days.
The story goes here.
Four friends who are very close since their college days meet when one of them comes back to India during a vacation. They talk more during one night and the subject goes around Indian marriages and their lives of mutual adjustments. They depart after a day and one of them(Ravinder) registers himself in a matrimonial site after seeing the advertisement in a yahoo page. He tries on so many profiles; he rejects some of them and some of them reject him. Finally he is attracted towards a profile where he gets a reply. They prefer to converse and the talk goes on till a week, within which the girl and Ravi start loving each other. After a week, Ravi speaks to his parents and they become happy to hear that their son has finally shown interest in marriage life. The family accepts the girl and they both continue to fly as love birds. Meanwhile, he gets an assigment to work onsite and the couple start missing each other. He sees her and her family before boarding the flight and after coming to India after which the two familes become close to each other. Their love keeps on growing day by day that they start missing each other even if they donot speak for a couple of hours. The two familes decide their engagement to happen on Feb 14th, as chosen by the girl, Khushi. She is desparate to get married to him and in cloud nine when the engagement day comes near. She starts expressing her joy and happiness by dancing, singing and through crazy activities. Working in night shift, having loads of tickets(a so called support project's bother) in front of her, she wishes to complete all work no later than morning because that would be her last working day before her engagement. The next morning when Ravi calls her, her phone is answered by one of her friend, called Girish who conveys that she met an accident and badly wounded. Ravi just leaves messages to his friends on mobile that the engagement is postponed and leaves to her place. He is restless till he sees her and feels that he lost his life when she is kept in ICU. He plans to stay at his in-law's place till she is recovered. Though everyone treats him as a family member, a few relatives who have come to visit her express their attitude of staying in in-law's home before marriage. Meanwhile, Khushi is moved to a different hospital and her health improves. He is energized to hear that from the doctor and he plans to visit his parents as his mother wishes to see her future daughter-in-law. For some reason, he travels alone back to his in-law's place and he dreams Khushi sitting next to him in bus asking him to take care of himself and not to forget the days which were spent on talking. He spots the engagement ring on her hand, but he probably did not have any more questions to her. He feels relaxed and happy when he sees her next to him on bus. He has a good sleep that night and when he gets up in the morning as his forehead is hit on the grip, he sees some missed calls from Khushi's number. He immediately dials in, after which he is conveyed that she is no more due to a high BP. He rushes to see her(though his mind is not willing to see her dead). He spends some days with his in-laws until the ceremonies get over and returns to normal work. But since then, he is empty inside without his Khushi and rejects all the proposals brought to him by his parents. He plans to live with memories of Khushi and the story ends when he sees a baby girl who says him that her name is Khushi. He feels nothing other than Khushi's love would fill his entire life.
Though the story is well written in terms of human relations and families, there are some places where the book could have been written in a good feel. Being in today's world, where there are so many love marriages happening around, there is no clear picture on why the guy hesitates to say about Khushi initially to his mother just because he loves her(though they belong to the same caste). The story has a very good picturization of youngsters respecting their parents and the family rules. It also depicts the easy going nature of a North Indian family; the responsibility that parents has towards their girl children and so forth. But since the main story depends on love, more focus could be given towards emotions between a couple, be it ecstasy or agony. Most of the important conversations when expressing emotions were written in Hindi, which, a non-Hindi reader would find difficult to understand. Again, the story stresses more on conversation than a written prose. The thumb rule of a love story should be a poem written in prose, which is rarely followed in this book. A person reading this story would think reading a conversation more than reading a love story. A love story should be felt more and read less. But I am not totally against this as it does create the reader an interest to read the novel; the situations and talks between couple.
The author, has tried to show an exact glimpse of what has happened through his lines. Scenes just enter your mind as a flash, but as soon as that it is just washed away due to dialogues of various characters.
But, I felt that it could have been expressed in a more good manner. After all, love cannot be defined by anyone.
